Period Piece

Period Piece is a data visualization and sonification of my menstrual cycle data over the course of a year between 2/2/17 and 2/2/18. This data is translated into musical notes which are punched into music box tape (referencing computer punch tape). I am interested in the way that data can transform subjective experiences into quantifiable numbers. In translating these numbers to musical notes that one can hear by physically interacting with the piece, a sense of preciousness is brought back into the data. This piece was part of the Elastic Behavior show at the Java Project.
